Angry Birds 'The Sequel'

This is my 2nd Angry Birds post and here is my older one. I had this idea from my friend, because he requested me to make one for him. As usual, he only can enjoyed it from the picture. :)

Inside the box: Rice, meatballs, potato, broccoli, and grapes. I used ketchup for red color and egg yolk for yellow color.

The one who enjoyed the bento is my daughter Elaine..she was really happy when she ate it and she loved the  meatballs.

I've been thinking to submit this bento to Contest: Via col bento , which is held by: Kitty's Kitchen and Semplicemente Pepe Rosa. The Contest will end on Thursday, June 2nd.

Here is the recipe for the meatballs.

Happy Monday...

Happy Monday for all my friends out there!  These 2 weeks i only made several bento because Elaine still in her school holiday and have to make a quick bento because Elaine won't let me stay long in my kitchen. :)

Today i made Mr. and Mrs. Smiley, it is very simple, just mould the rice with egg yolk. At first, i wanted to use my smiley puncher but turned out the eyes were too small, so i only used the smile part and hand cut the eyes.

I'm so happy to find out that CG from Cooking Gallery give me awards and they are my first blog awards. CG a brilliant chef and bento-ist, and i loves all her works. Thanks a lot, CG!

I want to share these awards with my friends from BENTO CLUB in facebook. They always give me a lot of idea and additional knowledge in bento and the best things is FRIENDSHIP.

Last week, i received my prizes from Bento Box Contest held by Mutual Publishing. I really love it, they are Susan Yuen's "Hawai'i's Bento Box Cookbook" and signed by Susan Yuen! Thanks a lot, Mutual Publishing and Susan Yuen.

Pig Costume

Yeterday i tried to post this, but i think the site was error because of the 'bebeng' typhoon last Sunday. Until now, it's still cloudy and sometimes there is strong wind blow, but everything already back to normal again.

Well, back to bento again. Yesterday, i read Kaerenmama's book again and found out how to make the double moulded rice ( i don't know how to call it..hehe.. ). So i practised it yesterday and made 'Elaine in her piggy costume'. I used pink decofuri to turn the white rice into pink rice.

Inside the yellow box: rice, broccoli, sausage, flower carrot, and some grapes. In the pink box: red bean and pork soup, rolled egg with ham and cheese, and some grapes.

I was reminded by Elaine's teacher that this week we will celebrate Mother's Day, so today i made a hen with the baby chicks. Tomorrow there will be Mother's Day and Mardi Grass celebration at Elaine's school, the school asked us to wear costume but i think i'll just wear ordinary outfit. Hopefully tomorrow i could post some pictures from it.

Inside the box: rice, stir fry beef, ham, sausage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot.

Dancing Birdie

I tried to make a bird from quail egg and it turns out well, I copied the birdie from kaerenmama book that i bought last week. I love her book because it is full color and there are brief tutorial inside it, also there are free puncher, cutter, and food picks. I use the puncher here as the face expression and the feet. Cute isn't it?

Inside the box: rice, quail egg, chicken and shrimp roll, carrot, green peas, broccoli, flower egg.

Here is the kaerenmama's book that mentioned above. :)
