Rilakkuma is Here...

This bento was inspired by a Rilakkuma stuffed toy that I saw in one of the online shop here. First time I saw it, I fell in love with the cuteness of it, so I told myself to make the Rilakkuma as a bento.

Here is my other Rilakkuma bento, this time I used rice molder which is goes with the cutter and puncher. It's so handy!

Here is the molder set that I used for the picture above.  You can find the details and buy it in Bento USA .

Have a nice weekend, everyone! See you on the next posts..

Rilakkuma and Kiiritoiri Bento

Today's Bento is my Come Back Bento in 2014. Hopefully the spirit of Bento-ing will always stay with me. ^.^

Rilakkuma and Kiiritoiri Bento is my daughter's request, so thanks for the idea. The Rilakkuma made from plain rice mixed with sweet soy sauce and I hand mould it. The details for the face is seaweed and cheese. The cute little bird, Kiiritoiri made from Tamagoyaki and the details for the face is seaweed and carrot for the beak. Inside the box are chicken teriyaki, kani salad, blanch broccoli, zucchini, and pink fish sausage as a flowers.

I seldom to make bento nowadays, so it took longer time for me to make it. I forgot which cutter and puncher I should use. But the result is Ok for me and my daughter loves it when she found out. I'm a happy mom!

Birthday and Baptismal Cupcakes

Cupcakes.. I don’t know why, I really love to bake them. Sometimes I make them for my friend’s birthday or any other special occasion.

Like today’s post, I made 2 kinds of cupcakes for my 2 special friends, which one of them is for the birthday and the other is for Baptismal.

The Birthday Girl  really loves Minnie Mouse, so I made Mickey and Minnie Mouse cupcakes. The Mickey and Minnie figurine are rubber toys, but the other toppers are made from gum paste.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse Birthday Cupcakes

  Mickey and Minnie Mouse?

Rainbow cakes?

For the flower shape ‘rainbow cake’ base, I used decorative bento cutter and you can find it in the Bento USA

There are other 12 other shapes you can make, by mix and match the cutter.

For the baptismal, I made baby theme. I used gumpaste to make all of the toppers.

I really enjoy doing this kind of things… It’s one of my stress reliever

Btw, I really miss doing my bento for Elaine and I hope I have the chance to make some within these 2 weeks. ;)

Little Brown Bears

Continuing  Elaine’s new friends, this time I made bears that she called Caston and Dasya. For the bears, I used panda rice mold which I bought on line. I really want to use the mold, but I already make panda twice this month. Last night I’m thinking why I don’t use it to make bears, just a little twist and there it goes… Little Brown Bears.

This is the panda rice mold that I mentioned above:

You can buy it online in BentoUsa or if you’re in Indonesia, you can buy via Facebook account Bento E-Shop

This bento is inspired from Shopping mum's website. She made sandwich at that time and put cheese panda as the topper, they looked very cute. When my bento was done, it turns out my pandas looks like bears, maybe i use american cheese to make them. I asked Elaine what they are and fiuhh..she could tell that they were panda. :D

Be My Valentine

Traditionally, people will express their love on Valentine's day by giving chocolate, roses or teddy bear  to their loved one. Actually, i want to make a happy bear couple but it turned out their face seems a little bit upset. Let's hope that Mr. Bear can overcome the problem with Miss Bear, so they can celebrate Valentine's day that just around the corner. ;)

I'm so excited to receive the news that this bento received most vote in Bento Blog Network host by Diana Hansen, there are so many interesting bento there. You can go there to get some inspiration. ^^

My Teddy Bear

Few days ago when Elaine and me were playing in the living room, suddenly she remembered her Teddy Bears. She asked me to get them, one is big and the other is small and then she named it Mama Bear and Baby Bear. She said that the bears were hungry, so she asked me to hold them while she pretended to cook meals for them. After finished cooking, she feed her one by one and really taking care of them. Inside the box: Bear Rice which is made from jasmine rice mixed with sweet soy sauce, beef mechado, blanched broccoli, and flower fish cake. The face's detail was made from nori and cheddar cheese.

Happy World's Teacher Day

Happy World's Teacher Day for all the teachers in the world. Thank you so much for your dedication in order to make a person to become a real person. I still remember that i'm one of the 'active' kids in class, and many times i skipped some classes in high school and went to gym instead of studying. :D

Well, yesterday i made some 'gift' for Elaine's teachers at school as sign of my appreciation for them. Not a big thing, but it is made from the heart with lots of love.

All is edible, except the box of course. hihihi.. The cake is chocolate chip cupcakes, the figurine is made from gum paste and i hand mold them all.  It is really fun to do this, and the one who is excited about the cake is Elaine..she couldn't stop looking at them. :)

Today i made smiley face bento theme for my husband's breakfast and Elaine's lunch. Why smiley face? Because tomorrow is Chinese New Year, so everybody should be happy. Hopefully the following year will be more togetherness, happiness, blessings, and of course.... creativeness in bento making.

This was my husband's breakfast, he told me that he doesn't like to eat fruit in the morning, so i did not include fruit in his breakfast today. Maybe someday i will try to put some again. :)

Inside the box: smiley turkey sandwich and homemade neopolitan pudding. There is Vla inside Stitch container.

For Elaine, i made chinese girl bento which was inspired from Susan Yuen's book.

Inside the box: Onigiri Rice, Spanish Mackerel Siomay, broccoli. carrot, young corn, cherry tomato.

Tonight, we went to my friend's house to celebrate Chinese New Year by having dinner together. There were three families and each family brought some food for our dinner. I brought Mie Goreng (Fried Nooddles), Spanish Mackerel Siomay, and Neopolitan Pudding.

My First Post

Today, i decided to join a blog, so i can have more relationship with other mom in the world who has the same interest as i do. Now, I really..really love to make bento for my husband and 2.5 yo daughter, i'm still a beginner because i'm starting to make them since January, 2011.. :)  So, please..please teach me how to make a better bento..

Today i make breakfast bento for my husband..it was inspired from Susan Yuen's book.I really love her book. Too bad, i could not find her 1st edition here..but i have her 2nd edition.. yeahhhh...I try to make a bear shape from raisin bread, but as you can see, the shape is not good enough..

My daughter is still in toddler class and the class is only 2 hours per day, so i don't pack her lunch box. I arrange her lunch in a plate as usual. In her plate, i put rice covered with egg sheet, rabbit shape fish cake, pan seared yellow squash ( is yellow squash same with kabocha? ), spinach and corn, and bakmoi ( the soup is separated in a bowl ).. tadaaaa...
